This story A good Man Is Hard to Find is a great short story to read. This book starts off as a regular family taking a trip to Florida. The trip ends up getting moved to the Tennessee because it was supposedly a person escaped from a federal jail and he was near or in Florida. This Family is like any other ordinary family, if you have read the story you probably would think the grandmother is a mean person. The kids in this story are probably the reason she acts the way she does. These kids are kids who don’t listen to anything.
The misfit of the story was a cold hearted man who killed people just for fun this is person that does not deserve to live for those reasons. If I was to ever run into him I would make him kill me because I would try and kill a person like that before they even get the thought of killing me. The misfit had a cold hearted partner with him in the story they both need to be a in a maximum security federal prison.
The family goes through a lot on their road trip. The children are so disrespectful especially when they stop at and old restaurant that’s in north Georgia, the kids talk about the place and the people right there in front of them which I think is very rude. If I was doing the things that they were doing around my parents and grandmother I would be in a lot of trouble right there on the spot. The road trip ends up in a wreck and the car was disabled which caused them to have the ruff ending that they had.
This story also has a ruff ending, something I would have never thought of when I first started it. If the grandmother wouldn’t have thought she knew where she was going instead of assuming the family probably would have had a chance in not having it end the way it did. Assumptions are always the wrong thing to do because you could end up like this family in a bad predicament. Once they had turned on the wrong way towards their deaths the grandmother had known that they were going wrong way she just didn’t want the family come off at her with a lot of yelling. Not owning up to your mistakes could have you driving off a cliff just the way they did, luckily no one had life threatening wounds from the crash.
After the crash is where things start to go down hill. The misfit ends up showing up to where they crashed at in the middle of no where almost like the grandmother took them to him if u asked me. The misfit’s ends up getting his accomplice to murder every one that was in the car even the infant anyone who has the guts to a do thing like that doesn’t deserve to live themselves. The way he kills them is one of the worst ways to die being shot in front of your family one at a time. The grandmother almost talked this killer into not killing her but he had no remorse and did it any way.
The way I think the author is trying to have you think at the end of the story is to think that it doesn’t end the way it starts. Stories that are like this one are the stories that are more interesting starts one way but ends a totally different way. The author of this story seems like a person who has been in this same or similar situation.

Short Story 2
George Orwell in “Shooting an Elephant” is a young police officer. He is misunderstood by the people of the small Burma town. The people inside the town hate the authority of the their city because they are ran by the people with the higher authority so these people feel that they shouldn’t help or shouldn’t even talk to them about anything because of the way they are treated by them. The subjects of imperialism or British colonization but one there officer is George Orwell one of the ones that are loyal that has different opinions from the people he works for but the people in Burma trust no one who works for the authority of their city. The Burmese people call the officers of their town “yellow faces which is a bad name for the European officers.”
The Europeans treated the Burmese people like trash even though they had been prosecuted they are misunderstood just like some people are still treated here in the United States. The way the convicts had to live were unexplainable “they had to live in stinking cages” but that one officer Orwell still disapproves of what is going on with the people and the authority and he really wants to help badly. That is where the elephant comes in to play because the young European officer is forced to kill an elephant in the town but he really doesn’t want to kill the endangered species until it presses its huge foot in the back of one of the citizens from the town and crushes him with tons of force into the mud. The officer had trouble with shooting the elephant but not in a way that it was hard to kill but in a way that he had love for animals and he was pressured to pull the trigger.
My opinion on why the author wrote this story is to show how people of non democracy countries are treated. The Burmese people are treated like animals from their own houses to the prisons of the country. This story is a way of showing the actions that the government takes upon their citizens. I think this is a great way of reaching out to people or countries that may can come and help the people of the country. I don’t think that no one should be treated the way these people are treated. People should have rights all over the world and not just ran by government, the people should have a say so of what goes on where they are citizens of.
The reason I think it is important to read about things like this is because if no one hears about peoples problems they could never be fixed. To be heard you have to speak out like the Author of this story did. The reason that these stories are so popular is because things that are happening in foreign countries are important to countries that are democracies. There are instance that people could help me on if I wrote them and publish them to the public. It would never happen that way because I think that my problems aren’t anyone else’s so I try to solve them myself.

Writing 2

There are lots of cars made over seas that I really adore but here in the United States I like only a few of the cars that are made; the types of cars that interest me are older model cars. These types are cars are just ready for horse power, candy paint, custom interior, and big rims. The car that I would be describing is a 1987 Buick Grand National, one of the cleanest of its kind riding around Athens, Georgia. This car has come from scratch; it was painted another color before the color that it is now. This car belonged to one of my friends before he sold it to another one of our friends.
The sound of this car is like a car at the race track. The motor is 327 Chevrolet motor, with a 700r transmission, Elderblock performance carburetor, everything chrome, and a 3500 stall. All those horses equipped with Flowmasters and Elderblock headers to make the sound of the car roar. The rear end of the car is from a Corvette, and it has special rotors to carry the rims. One tap of the gas and it will spin the rims like doughnuts. Every gear that the car changes while deep into the gas and you can hear the tires catch grip to the pavement.
The audio of the car is all done with Alpine, one of the best audio companies in the business. The bass is the best from the car-every one wants to have his or her music hitting harder in the trunk than the next person, and you want to be heard before your seen. The way it sound in the inside of the car is a major difference from other cars that I have rode in or been around. Even the way the new Gucci Mane sounds in the car is amazing, and how his new song “Colors” come on the beat starts to drop is more than just amazing. The audio in this car is worth $2,000 alone, equipped with a Viper alarm system..
This car is clean from paint to interior no dents or scrapes. The paint on this car is candy green a.k.a Gain Green green. This paint looks like the green on a green sour blow-pop. People sometimes brag and say their cars are wet which means it’s gleaming and you can see your self in. The interior on the car is all black leather and cloth, with custom floor mats all done by Duke’s Customs. This auto shop is located in South Georgia in Valdosta. This 1987 Grand National would have been unnoticeable about a year ago; it had a whole different look. The car was painted red with the McDonald’s logos on the side with red and yellow rims.
This Grand National is also equipped with 24’ inch chrome Asanti with rubber band tires. This car was also customized with T-tops, which are like removable windows on the roof of the car. When you remove the tops it gives you a better view of your surroundings, especially at night it makes the car looks better with them off. The Grand National is now done with chrome motor parts, and bigger and better rims. What makes it better about the rims is the design of them-how deep they are. The designer also plays a big part in what makes them better also.
The way this car looks and performs is just amazing. There aren’t too many cars that perform with its looks, but there are still lots of cars that perform with no looks. The way painters paint cars, make them change colors and make them look like candy is the most amazing part about this car. If I was the owner it wouldn’t be driven as much but when I would drive I would drive it hard.

Autobiography
My life has been better than ever and it is also the most important thing to me. Taking care of me and my needs and wants is major part in my life, other than school which is 80% of what is going on in my life at the moment. Sometimes I have a habit following the wrong path and you know it’s wrong, and I still tend to do what’s wrong. Following the right track has earned me better grades in school, and I also started studying more. People who listen and have strong minds can overcome wrongs and come to the light. In my life I have seen friends go down the wrong paths, a path that I would never even start to follow.
Growing up as a kid I live in and around projects. People like me sometimes makes that as an excuse for doing stupid things like making wrong decisions that could cost them their lives. But the biggest excuse for living in the so called “hood” or projects is that it’s hard there is a reason for not graduating. It is hard growing up in that way but you know its going to be hard that does why you work hard to leave places like that so you want be stuck there your whole life. Growing up as a kid knowing that you weren’t born into wealthy family sometimes mentally hurt a person who knows from experience, especially being around people who can’t overcome that fear. I was always taught that education is the most important thing in life. My goal is to accomplish that by graduating and making my parents and friends happy. Some of my friends had this opportunity and didn’t proceed with it, but my plans are to go even further.
Being a teenager as I am, you have to have a fascination with sports, sports sometimes keep me and peers around my age out of a lot of trouble by keeping you active with something positive. Me at this point in life I give ESPN ratings for watching sportscenter more than half the time I’m at home. I am also a big fan of football; I have two favorite teams in the NFL and only one that I really am a fan of in college which is the Georgia Bulldogs. The Indianapolis Colts is my favorite team and Payton Manning is my favorite player and the best quarterback at this time in 2008. The other team I am a fan of is the Atlanta Falcons only because their like the home team because of their location here in Georgia. The Atlanta Falcons made the biggest mistake that they could ever do by releasing Micheal Vick from their staff. Me personally I think he shouldn’t of never did jail time for dog fighting which isn’t a serious crime, but black males just have a passion for pit-bull fights which some people will never understand the such culture. But sometimes there are things that you do that you have to pay for even though they don’t seem wrong but if you do it best to believe that the media will make an example out of you that’s why you really have to keep a cool head when your into things like sports which is a great thing for children to do in their spare time.
Life here in America has been great all of my eighteen years, even with the ups and downs I have had. I made a big mistake my 9th grade year in high school I chose to hang around the wrong group of friends. Me and those friends started to smoke which was the worst thing I could ever do because now I regret it because its hard to stop. But once I realized what I was doing wasn’t right I had got back onto the right path which I have been following for about 3 ½ years now. I now have plans to graduate from Classic City High School here in Athens Georgia the later pursue my dreams in College. Once I Finish here I would like to walk on to a baseball team of some college but if I don’t have that opportunity I would like to just go and major in business management or even being an architect. This is my life from past to present summarized, but I still hope to be successful in something in ten years from now.

Short Story 1
The short story that I’ve read is Thank You M’am by Lankston Hughes. This short story is about a young man who snatches an old ladies purse but she ends up helping him. The way she helped the young man is how she showed him that snatching purses wasn’t the right thing to be doing even if he didn’t have the money to get the things that he wanted. The main reason why he never got far when he snatched her purse was because the purse weighed as just as much as he did, and soon as he grabbed it he feel and couldn’t go anywhere. Once all of this has happened she snatched him by the arm and took him all the way home with her because she said that he had needed his face washed. This old lady even feeds the boy maybe because she knows that he has a problem and he’s only a child, which is something that I would have never done.
The young man in the story never says anything about his parents the way his part is played in the story. Personally I think that he doesn’t have anyone that he could really rely on that’s probably the reason he is going around taking peoples purses. The lady purse that he tried to take was very generous to a person that tried to steal from her even though the boy said, “I didn’t aim to.” Meaning that he didn’t intend to which the lady knew that that was a lie.
The things that I think about the characters in the story, is that the old lady seems like a very nice person. The reason that I say that about the lady is because how she treats someone after they make a big mistake like the one the boy did in the story. To take someone who tries to steal from you home with you it really takes a caring and loving person to try to help the person that is in need of some home training. The things I think about the young man who caused all of the altercations, are that he is very rude and self centered especially someone who would steal from an old elderly lady. If I had of been in her shoes he would have been in a whole lot of trouble with me then I would have took him to the police, which is where he thought he was going before asking her “you gonna take me to jail?”
The author of the story really didn’t tell what the characters of the story were like. To really get to know these characters you had to read and find out through the way they talked and their actions in the story. Some quotes that really describes Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones is when she told the boy “Well, you didn’t have to snatch my pocketbook to get some suede shoes,” the she came to say “you could of asked me.”
